Ms. Gabby stated that it is a privilege and a real blessing to be where she is at right now. In High School, she studied accounting and then in college began to study education with a concentration in Early Childhood Development. She wanted to work in something related to her passion that both incorporated teaching the Bible and with kids. Jubilee gave her the opportunity to become a pre-k teacher. She enjoyed this and it is something that brought her closer to her goal and passion. Later on, she was given the opportunity to become the Bible teacher for the kids of all grades and she feels like her dream job had come true.
Ms. Gabby considers this to be a big challenge for the responsibility it encompasses. She said, “I want the kids to feel the excitement and joy that Bible reading can bring”. For her, prayer is the key that opens the doors of heaven. She stated, “Everything is possible when we make prayers part of our daily walk of faith”. As part of the ongoing activities with the students, they recently devoted some time praying for Honduras, praying over the flag, and asking God to heal their land. This is a very meaningful time for Ms. Gabby and her students, as they keep asking God for mercy.
Her future lesson plans include praying for the community, their families, and the school. She shared, “each Bible character has something to teach us. I want the kids to learn that and bring that lesson to their daily lives.” As a member of the church theater ministry, she also wants to extend that ministry to the Jubilee school and is in the process of trying to figure out how and when this can happen. Ms. Gabby understands that spiritual warfare is something to battle against every day, and the community needs to be impacted by the testimonies of her students. She is very energetic and excited about what she calls and honor to share the gospel to this young generation.
